With KDE 4.5, I could see my events as a tooltip when hovering the clock, and the clock calendar would indicate days with events and show those in a tooltip when hovering such a day. Nice feature!
In KDE 4.6, only the holidays shows. My calendars are all akonadi, and works fine with korganizer and eventlist plasmoid. Is this a known/planned regression? |

Check your plasma-desktop-appletsrc and see if for the calendar there's the key "showEvents=false".

To correct this via the user interface, right click on the digital clock > Digital Clock Settings > Calendar. Tick "Display Events"

I can't find that option there. All I have is 1. Calendar system to be used (local, coptic, ethiopian, and so on) 2. A long list of different counties and the option to select either "Not used", "Information" or "Days off".

I think this is a 4.6 only setting at this time. If it isn't in 4.6, then it must be in 4.7.

If so, it must be in 4.7 since in my 4.6 install I can't see it. And it's strange, since I know I had those events showing up in 4.5.x. Can't remember what I did to manage that though.

I know that to have those in my calendar I have to use a kdebase-workspace version compiled against the KDEPIM betas, rather than 4.4.x.

I'm running kde 4.6.0 and kdepim 4.4.10 (latest stable, just arrived in my system this morning) |

In my case, that doesn't make a difference. Workspace is 4.6.0 and KDEPIM is 4.6 beta4, all using the OpenSUSE factory repos except the KDEPIM one which is using the specail KDEPIM repo, built as far as I know to be used with the factory repos.

Same problem here:
kontact --version Qt: 4.7.1 KDE: 4.6.00 (4.6.0) "release 375" Kontact: 4.4.10 (Installed from the openSuse Repos) Hope, this will get fixed soon, was a really nice feature in KDE 4.5.x

Hi,
Sorry, we definitely didn't intend to remove the events, we just didn't pay much attention to it as we waited for the full Akonadi KDEPIM release. We now have a bug open for this at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=258125, hopefully we can find the cause quickly and have a fix in 4.6.1. Cheers! John. |
