first of all, thx for KDE.

Regarding my issue, since update to 4.5.5 (Kubuntu 10.10, Launchpad ppa), my kickoff favorites are not persisted. When I restart X session/computer the favorites are restored. I tried to delete ~./kde4/share/config/kickoffrc but that didn't help.

I thought on Kubuntu the config files were ~/.kde/shar/config, some other distros use ~/.kde4/

what does the [Favorites] section of the rc file contain?

Hi,

well there are both and I checked your suggestion (~/.kde/share/config/kickoffrc). Guess what, it's corrupted and unreadable, I deleted it, that should do the trick.

I will get back after I get to system restart.

EDIT: Deleting the corrupted file solved the problem.
