Disribution: Kubuntu 10.10
KDE Version: 4.5.5 Hi. I am wondering how I can add an application that's not registered under the KDE menu to the Favourites? The bug tracker we use at work is Java-based and has its own installer. Once installed, it won't show up anywhere in the KDE menu. Nor can I find it by using the search function within the menu. I'd imagine it's still possible to add it to the Favourites so I can run it from there? I could use KRunner (Alt + F2) to directly run the app, but it would be nice if I could access it from the Favourites menu since I use the "Favourites Launcher" plug-in that allows my right-click to pop up the Favourites as a context menu. Thanks in advance for your help!

There might be a better way but if you add it to the menu by right clicking on the menu icon and selecting menu editor, add it anywhere and save, exit. Open the menu and right click to add to Favourites.

Right-click on K icon, select "Edit Applications ..."
There you can create a "New Item", give it a name and set the "Command" to execute. The item is then added to the menu. You can add it to the favorites later by right-click on your new application item. If you don't want it to appear in the menu, you can just delete the item later; it will stay in the favorites.
