Hi
I'm a Spotify user, and that's almost the only music service I use. Some days ago, I started using KDE 4.5, and I liked one of the plasmoids: "Now listening" (I think that's its name in English, I'm from Spain). My question is, is there any way to incorporate Spotify (using Wine) with this plasmoid or with another one? I found a Spotify client for KDE, Spokify, but it's only for premium users. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 with KDE 4.6 installed. |

Most likely not. It doesn't work with Spotify's own Linux-client or Spokify either (at least not yet). I don't know if the author of Spokify (awsome client btw! IMO, better than Spotify's own) intends to add that functionality but that's probably the best shot of seeing it happen.

Now Listening supports the MPRIS open source media player specification I believe, so it would be up to the various clients to connect to the D-Bus session bus and expose a MPRIS compliant interface for it to use.
