Hi.
The first time it started the applications but not the icons in desktop or the panel. After restart i was unable to restart with kde... is there a way to rest kde? Deleting .kde folder in home directory, wasn't useful... Thank you! |

this is a new install? upgrade?
kde version? renaming/removing ~/.kde should reset KDE when you can't start are you left in a terminal session? typing "startx" (no quotes) displays? can you create a new user and log in as them? |

At the login screen, in the bottom right corner (or thereabouts) should be a selector "Sessions". If you right click on this a list will be offered, which should include Default, GNOME, KDE, etc. Ensure KDE is selected.

Tank you, bcooksley. but the problem is KDE doesn't start...
It accepts pw starts and quit right away no error screen, nothing... just like a logoff were the first command on boot's file! |

Please post the content of ~/.xsession-errors. You may need to use a seperate user for this, or use the terminal to move the file somewhere else before logging in under a different desktop environment.
