Hi,
Being a really old-timer in Unix/Linux, I like to have my desktop in focus-follow-mouse mode. I was playing around with KDE 4.6, and I noticed two problems: 1) If I have a window open, say a terminal, and choose (from the menu on top right) Activities[1], if moving to mouse to reach the activity bar I step up onto the window, the activity bar disappear. It happens with more or less all the desktop functions. I suppose that the activities bar should steal focus at least until the mouse is over it... 2) Keyboard shortcut does not work unless I have all the windows minimized. I suppose that it is because the ALT+key combo goes to the window and do not pass thru to the Plasma desktop. Is this fixable/configurable? Thanks, Romano [1] PS, great thing. I like them. If only the switch activity bar I have put onto a auto-hide panel had the option to show the "stopped" activities...

For this specific need, the activity manager plasmoid may be what you need.

Grazie einar,
probably is just the plasmoid I need. Thinking a bit more about the point 1) above, the problem is that the activities window opens in a separate place from the menu, which is in general a problem when the policy is focus-follow-mouse. I put a delay into focus, it is better now (thanks configurability...) (PS I am Italian too)
