Hi all,

I'm using KDE 4.6.0 on openSUSE 11.4. I have a problem with the taskbar's new function "show a launcher when the app is not running".

I used to listen to music in streaming with the windows version of Spotify, through Wine. Spotify released a linux preview version, which I use now. I uninstalled Wine and deleted the ".wine" folder in my home.

I made a launcher in my taskbar from the linux version of Spotify. First, no icon is appearing, but the launcher is created. When I try to run Spotify from it, I get an error message saying that KDEInit can't find wine...

Also, in KRunner, when I enter "spotify", I get both the linux version (working) and the wine version (logo bouncing but the app doesn't start).
I don't remember well but I might have manually created an entry in Kickoff for the wine version. In any case, I removed it when I uninstalled Wine.

I think the problem might come from the fact that the system still "remember" the wine version. Is there a way to make it forget?

It might also reveal a bug with this functionality, but as it requieres Spotify, which is proprietary software, and which can't be launched without a paid account, I don't know if it is worth reporting it.

Thanks for your help.

Please try running "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental" and additionally ensure that no "wine" files exist in ~/.local/share/applications or it's subdirectories. After deleting them, please run kbuildsycoca4 again.

Hi bcooksley,

Many thanks for your help, it is now perfectly working. There was indeed some remaining files related to wine in ~/.local/share/applications, among which a shortcut to the wine version of Spotify.

By the way, thanks also for your work on KDE, it's a pretty awesome environment now !
