Hello, I'm running kde 4.6.2 and my krunner stopped working when I updated to that version. The box comes up, and the plugins are selected, but nothing beyond that works. I can get the options box and have tried doing different combinations of the plugins and the task manager works, but I can't run programs by hitting enter.
Does anyone know what might cause this? Does it sound like a problem with the plugins? Thanks. I tried this with another user account and it works fine, so my guess is it has something to do with my configuration. |

Try removing ~/.kde4/share/config/krunnerrc and running "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental". Both these steps should be performed without KRunner running on the system.

That gives me this:
I've grepped through all of the files in .kde4 and I only get this:
Removing the kxkbrc and device_automounter_kcmrc didn't seem to solve the problem. Though I did notice that one of my other plugins was working after rebuilding with this. Where is this "menu spec file"?

The messages given out by kbuildsycoca4 are usually fairly harmless and can be ignored. A menu spec file will have no relevance to the operation of KRunner.
Does it work under a new user? If it does, what is the output of the following command?

It does work under a new user account.

Hm, that looks okay.
Try running the following:

This looks bad:
Do I need to rebuild my plugins somehow? Or my plasma? |

That probably means that you rebuilt either kdelibs or kde-workspace without rebuilding other KRunner components. They are usually resident in kdeplasma-addons, kde-workspace and other such modules.
