Good Day . . .
I have absolutely no idea what is causing this problem so I will start here and hopefully someone can redirect me. I am using Debian Testing up-to-date. Got a problem. The problem started about a month ago but every attempt at finding a cause has proved negative. My monitor is set to go to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity. About 30 to 40% of the time when it wakes up: - all visible apps are titlebarless (new word) - all sub-forms (i.e. open, save) are also titlebarless - internal functions work on apps such as File>Quit - the bottom hiding panel stays hidden - desktop folders open - Ctrl-Alt-Delete/Backspace does nothing although they work normally - Ctrl-Alt-F1 takes me to the CLI - Ctrl-Alt-F7 brings me back In the CLI, sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop/start brings me back to normal. I have removed, purged, installed many packages with no luck. My searches shows no one else with my problem. Does anyone have any ideas? All ideas graciously accepted. Thanks Paul |

What graphics card/chipset do you use, and which driver? Can you try running "kwin --replace" in a terminal when the problem occurs and see whether it fixes the problem?

The original problem has been made redundant by some updates from xorg. After the updates - no issues. The issue has been completely put to sleep by 300 KDE 4.6.3 updates today.
Now I am sure that I will have different issues. Ain't it fun. Thank You |

Thank You for the message einar.
I thought I marked it as solved, sort of. I looked for your green tick marked icon but all I can find is a green happy face. Please give me a location. Thank You. |
