Hello . . .

Today about 300 updates came through the pipe and now I am up to Debian Testing 4.6.3.

Issues are already showing which are expected in 'testing.'

Device Notifier does not 'see' any optical drive blank media. Burned and pressed disks show as normal. /media exists. K3B shows no disk inserted.

I tried a Debian bug report but apparently I did not know enough answers and it closed on me, 3X.

Can anyone point me in a direction to start diagnosing the problem? I need to know the package and whether anyone else has experienced this problem and how you solved it (hopefully).

Have you logged out of KDE and back in since updating? Do you have an application such as K3b installed which can handle blank CD/DVD media?
