Weather doesn't update after standby - IS A BUG

I am using the LCD weather station widget and the weather wallpaper on KDE 4.6.3 and Arch Linux. After resuming from standby/suspend-to-ram using pm-suspend, the weather never updates -- not even 8 hours later (I have weather set to refresh every half hour). I am using an always-on ethernet connection and the NOAA weather server (wettercom doesn't work, bbcukmet has the same problem) Is this problem common, and is there any way to fix it?

there's a similar bug report https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=226022#c5, suggest you post your experience there (to confirm not an isolated problem)

also try a different weather widget to isolate the issue to the lcd weather widget (such as yawp)

If you go into the Weather applet settings, then reconfirm them does that fix the issue (albeit temporarily)

Thanks google01103, I didn't think it was the same problem when I first saw the thread, but the last post by Tim Holy looks like it could be. I put in my two cents. Bcooksley, hitting OK on the settings does make the LCD weather update, but the wallpaper doesn't seem to. I changed the location for the wallpaper and the wallpaper changed, but now it won't change back. I'll see if the LCD will update in half an hour and if the wallpaper does anything.

So the LCD will update automatically after hitting OK on the settings, but the weather wallpaper refuses to change. Is there anything else I can try?

Ok, this is probably a bug in both then. Please file two bug reports at bugs.kde.org - one for the wallpaper and one for the applet. Given that both are affected though, it is probably the underlying data engine at fault.

Yes, it appears those trying to fix the bug know it is a problem with the weather engine. After browsing through all the weather bugs, I found this report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=273182 which is more similar to my problem.
Thanks for your help!
