Hi all,
do you remember a run-command applet from KDE 3? It looked this way: It was a cool thing because, comparing to krunner, you could put it on a pannel. This enabled you to, for example, pasting a link with middle mouse button into it. Next thing you had to do is just press enter and the website appeared. It is not possible now because in order to use krunner, you have to press alt + F2 first, which is unconvinient. I've found http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Ru ... tent=91495 but this plasmoid has problems with scaling on the pannel and doesn't respect theme's colour, making text unreadable. So, is there any way I could get my favourite applet function back in kde 4? |

Well, the run command widget you linked to is the default KDE4 replacement - I don't get problems with system colour schemes, mind.
I also use KRunner but have changed the inconvenient ALT+F2 shortcut to CTRL+space - much more accessible. For longer CLI stuff I use yakuake, simply perfect.

Thanks for your reply. Have you been doing something to set fixed width on the pannel? I experienced problems when applying solution from comments at kde-apps. Maybe I'll seek how to solve my scheme issues, though. Krunner should be a plasmoid, that's all

I have a centralised panel and set a min/max width limit (for what it's worth)
