Hi
in order to add a new application launcher/shortcut to the plasma "Search and Lauch" icon one has to access the "KDE Menu Editor". However it is never offered. The only way I found so far to access it is 1) Press Alt+F2, and find "Application Launcher Menu" 2) A full screen stretched KDE icon appears 3) Right click and choose "Edit Applications" Is there a different way to add new programs by hand to the search and launch or is something missing in the default configuration? |

Hello,
Can you run kmenuedit? |

yes, i can. And it opens the right program.
However I have to type the complet "kmenuedit" to show the option "kmenuedi" doesn't. So would it be sensible to add a program shortcut upstream? Can this been done selectively for Netbook Plasma as the normal plasma doesnt need this? I created a new menu entry for kmenuedit manually, so for me its resolved for now. |

Well I suppose you could file a wish-list bug.

In this case, the best thing would be for Plasma Netbook to offer a link to "edit the menu" in it's display of the menu,
KDE Sysadmin

I added to this one.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279082 Its not identical to what I want, but basically netbook plasma needs a direct way to access the kmenuedit. |
