Hello.Earlier today, I've updated some kde components that were prompted by Kpackagekit. Now, the applet for Network is displaying wrongly, it shows the icon for a wired connection (I'm connect through wi-fi) and I can't enable wi-fi when I click on it. When I pass the mouse over it, it says "wi-fi disable by hardware". Help, please?

Yes, I rebooted. The issue remains... Edit: Oh, and it says WLAN interface Error: Invalid Status. Edit 2: By the way, I'm running KDE 4.7.

Noticed the same thing. This morning's batch of updates broke NetworkManager; this evening's updates fixed it.

Hello, but how should I update, when I can't connect to internet? Is there any way how to make internet working?
Thanks |

you need an ethernet (wired) connection or to dl the packages on a different computer and install them from a thumb drive or cd |

Did your wired Ethernet break, too? Even though the icon never showed a plugged-in cable during the "outage" yesterday, my Ethernet connection still behaved. That's how I was able to download the update to the update.
