Hi.
Since I've updated to KDE 4.7 my panel won't "Auto-hide". The "Auto-hide"-setting seems to do exact the same thing as "Windows go below". The task manager in KDE 4.7 offers to "Show A Launcher For xxx While It Is Not Running", like I've used it in 4.6. Except it doesn't work. Can anyone confirm these bugs? If it's just me I'll wait for the next version, if someone else has the same problem I'll probably file a bug report. |

I have a similar but different bug. For me, the panel auto-hides, but for several minutes after login I can't get it to show. I've just found out that if I hold my mouse towards the top of the screen (I have the panel at the bottom), I see the blue glow near the top, but if I hold my mouse near the bottom of the screen, I don't. The funny thing is after I use KDE for a while the panel starts working again (and the glow is only on the bottom now)
Hm, I confirm this happening to me, also. Interestingly, I have launchers for Dolphin and Konqueror on by default, but after I launch and close Dolphin, the launcher disappears. |

Which Task Manager are you using? A 3rd party one or the default?

Uh, didn't think of that, how stupid...
I'll try tomorrow when I'm back home. |

Panel auto-hiding works when running KDE as a new user*,
the Application Launcher still vanishes when closing the program. *should have tested that before starting this thread, sorry. |

For the Task Manager, please file a bug against it...
For the Panel Auto-Hide issue, have you tried changing the panel to a normal panel then back to a Auto-Hide panel?

hi folks
I had this auto-hide-problem under KDE 4.6 from beginning. I updated to 4.7, problem still exist. Yesterday, after a while using my Laptop, problem wasn't reproducable. Normally, if you open a new window, (while auto hide function is activated), the window appears on top of the screen. The panel (on my screen on top) "thinks", that the bottom of the new window ist the top of the screen. When I make a mouse-over on the bottom of the new window, the panel appers on that position. I haven't found a solution yet, but perhaps this information is useful. |
