Dear fellow KDE users,

Please help me confirm a nasty bug involving the configuration of panel and increased font size for General items.

What is that panel I am referring to exactly?
It is the rectangular area that pops up when one clicks the curly, curvy yellow-orange cashew icon at bottom right of dashboard. Such rectangular area has options to increase height, add a separator, add widgets, etc.

One thing that I wish I knew is what is the name of the package for such rectangular area.

WARNING!
Make sure you have System Monitoring (Ctrl+Esc) on or a Widget that reports CPU %tage activity before engaging in the following steps.

Steps to reproduce:

1- K Applications Laucher / System Settings / Application Appearance / Fonts category / General
and here set size to 12

2-
a) Click the yellowish-orange semi-lunar, semi-curvy cashew nut
on the rightmost side of the dashboard: "toolbox for dashboard" is its tooltip text.

or

b) Right-click somewhere in the dashboard and then select "Option for Panel:
Configuration of Dashboard"

If nothing odd or strange or irregular seems to change or or seems to happen, then repeat the steps above but set the font size for General items to 14 or 16 or more.

If something odd, strange and irregular happens, then please report this back in here by indicating at which font size the problem first appeared and what is your os language. This may sound weird but it is related to number of characters used in that area and words do not have the same number of characters when translated.

----------

Here's what happens to me:

- an infinite loop is triggered
- the text labels of buttons inside the panel oscillate very fast from
left to right to left .. as if they were squeezed to fit into a too tight area
- the CPU percentage activity for plasma-desktop increases dramatically and remains high as long as such panel is expanded, opened.

I am using
KDE Platform Version: 4.7.0
Qt Version: 4.7.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.38-11-generic-pae i686 (32bits)
Distribution: Kubuntu 11.04
here.

regards, Gérard
