disabling mouse wheel

Thu Sep 15, 2011 5:05 pm
Hello,
I believe this question is related to Plasma and Plasma widgets.

I generally love the mouse wheel for scrolling documents. But I find much of the extra mouse wheel functionality in KDE distracting. First thing I usually do is edit the 'Desktop Settings' to remove mouse scroll functionality on all Activities. I have been trying to find a way to disable scroll for the virtual desktop pager widget and the time/calendar widget.

I usually end up switching virtual desktops when I didn't want to, my time zone often gets changed on the clock when I didn't wont to.

I had these issue when I had a regular mouse, but has been much worse since getting an Apple magic mouse.

Anyone know of anyway to disable those features? Ultimately, I would like to get to a configuration that where the wheel would only function as scrolling when the active window has a scroll-able area.

Thanks

Unfortunately to the best of my knowledge no setting exists at this time to disable such functionality, however such "hidden" functionality is discouraged by the Plasma Workspace interface guidelines.
