I couldn't find similar problem here, so I'm creating a new post.
I faced this problem first time (I'm using KDE 4.7.2 on Arch Linux): I have 4 virtual dektops and Task Manager configured to show only tasks from current desktop. When I open a window on another dektop and close it, Task Manager creates a "placeholder" on all other desktops: ![]() I have also Compiz enabled, but it the same with KWin. The same problem was already mentioned here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php ... 5#p1008325 and here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11360884 Does anyone know if there's a workaround for this and if a bug should be submitted? Or may be there's already a bug for this? I haven't seen such a problem in KDE 4.6. |

By the way, the more windows I open and close, the more placeholders appear. Finally the window buttons in task manager become very small and it turns to be very inconvenient to work.
For a good example, one may follow the first link and click on the image posted there (I can't copy it here because of size limitations) |

Not completely sure it's the same problem, but a workaround for the "ghost entries" in the task manager has been submitted: https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/102779/

Hans,
Thanks for pointing this. Don't know, may be it's the same issue. As I can see it's a review request, so the workaround is not in the mainline yet? Or I'm misunderstanding? |

So as far as I know, it should be available in 4.7.3. ![]()
