Reset netbook look defaults?

Mon Oct 31, 2011 8:36 pm
Having just put Kubuntu 11.10 on my netbook I had a little play with the netbook-size workdpace. I managed to mess it up quite quickly... Is there something I can delete or do so that the netbook look is back to its original settings/widgets etc after a reboot?

I'm assuming that this is a KDE feature rather than a Canonical extra, maybe wrongly.

Thanks.

you can reset (and backup) your plasma desktop to the defaults with
kquitapp plasma-desktop
sleep 20s
mkdir -p $HOME/plasma-config/
mv $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/config/plasma-desktop* $HOME/plasma-config/
plasma-desktop &

of course this might be a bit more extreme then you'd like

OpenSuse Leap 42.1 x64, Plasma 5.x

Ha, it is a bit, but that's fine, I must have installed a different distro and reimported or made from scratch my browser bookmarks about fifty times this year, ten minutes redoing my desktop won't hurt. Thanks.

Edit: This didn't quite do what I needed - although my regular desktop was reset the netbook type was still messed up. In the end I deleted all the hidden files in /home and rebooted, that did the trick. At a guess I needn't have deleted _all_ those files but it did no harm.
