am a newbie to kde
i hav many questions currently

1.wher is my conky file located ??
2.is conky programmed in python??
3.or can python codes create a wonderful conky??
4.how to alter my conky file ?

an common question since i need to gain knowledge regarding os and am pursuing my computer science and engg....so

1.linux is open source ...so can i alter the major codes of my operating system
2.if i learn python will i be able alter my whole linux operating system as per my needs

as Conky is not a KDE app you might start by looking at the Conky home page and wiki http://conky.sourceforge.net/ http://wiki.conky.be/index.php?title=Conky_Wiki

1) if you have the source code you can do what you wish, but must adhere to whatever license it is under http://www.americanbar.org/groups/intel ... enses.html

2) Linux is written in C, learning Python will not teach you C. Python will allow you to write programs that will enable you to do much but for understanding the OS you will need C

Thanks for the link friend....great info though :-)

friend am using computers from childhood for around 14yrs...so am good with programming languages c,c++,java

and a part time 2d and web designer too 8)

now am interested in learning python and to master linux operating system

so to know well about an operating system i need to know how it is built, wat scheduling algorithm it uses ,etc etc

so where does the linux(KDE) os 'c' files are kept friend...so that i can learn how they are coded ???
