I've made a fresh install of Mint KDE, and my Plasma desktop folder, although I can copy, paste, cut files easly in it, doesn't let me move, drag or drop a file or folder in it.

For instance, I can't place a picture on the desktop folder and drag it to a Gimp window. With or without locking widgets.

I've searched for similar problems in the web, but I couldn't solve it yet. Does anyone here knows what might it be?

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply, but no. I can't drag files into Kate or Gimp, not even as a new user.

Every time I try to do that, I simply draw a selection square with the cursor.

Hm I think there was a bug that caused that, which version do you use? This seems to have been fixed in recent versions.

I'm using KDE 4.6, in a Linux Mint 10. If it's a plasma version bug, should I reinstall it? And if your answer is yes, how can I do it?

Thanks for your time.

the question is is there a KDE backport repo for Mint 10 that provides 4.7.x, if not then you should consider upgrading your Mint version. Reinstalling a version that has a bug in it will not fix that bug.

Mint's repositories are the same as Kubuntu's, and I think I'll wait for the next version to come out.

Thanks a lot for helping me. :)
