Hello, I started using Kubuntu yesterday, and I want to learn to use the terminal, and basicly only use the terminal. So therefore i want to have one virtual desktop with a graphical user interface, where I can use applications, and have desktop shortcuts and task manager, whilst one virtual desktop with no distractions, and only one big terminal window.
I am running my machine on a virtual machine, since I do not have enought physical space for two separate operating systems. Also, for some reason I can't get the resolution higher than 1024x786... I have tried to instal my video card drivers, but that has just failed (catalyst cc 11.11, screen card is a sapphire radeon hd 5750, which has a 5770 bios.) |

For your first question you can simply put a fullscreen terminal on one virtual desktop. For example, the command
puts a fullscreen Konsole window on the second virtual desktop. You second question seems more related to Virtualbox or whatever software you use.

Thank you so much for a quick reply! To bad the power is out at the moment do I can't initiate the code right away...
About the screen resolution, I'm going to install kubuntu on my MacBook pro, alongside osx, it's on my desktop at the moment since my recharger is broken... But anyways, that problem will be out of the world in no time, even though, it would be nice to get full use of the OS right away, I will still look for an solution to my problem |
