I have a problem since a while where I can't close activities anymore. if I press the square button to close the activity, the button disappears but the activity stays open. When this happens I'm not able to startup new activities either.
This is quite anoying since I use acitivites extensively and always have to shutdown my session to get back a half working system. I already tried restarting kactivitymanagerd but no luck anyone else noticed this behaviour or found a solution? I'm running arch with kde 4.7.4 |

Can you please provide a screenshot of this? It should not occur.
One thing you could try is restarting Plasma, by running the following in a terminal such as Konsole.
KDE Sysadmin

Did this change just recently (e.g. after an upgrade)? Can you reproduce with a new user?

My system has been behaving better since I disabled sessions support in KDE and always start with a new session. I just enabled it again and will try your suggestions when the problem appears again.
