Hello everyone!
I'm using Kubuntu Oneiric and yesterday I upgraded KDE to 4.8, but I've lost some plasmoids such as notes and shelf. i still have empty widgets on the dashboard saying impossibile to retrieve component and if I try adding them again, they're not on the list.

Can you kindly help me out?

is package plasma-widgets-addons installed?

It was, now it says it's impossibile to find it. Probably a repository issue?

I don't run Kubuntu so I can't definitively say that's the problem as they might have changed how they package things for 4.8, suggest you post on the Kubuntu forum

Also, you could change the subject of this thread to "lost shelf and notes widgets when upgrading to 4.8 in Kubuntu"

Thanks , I just typed it wrong. It was supposed to be upgraded but it was removed instead during the upgrade process.

so it's fixed by installing the .deb? if so please mark it as solved by clicking the green check mark

Yes, it was in the repos. I already clicked on the solved button.

There's still one problem though. Has the shelf moved to another package? I got my calculator and notes widgets back, but I can't find the shelf.

try installing the lancelot package, on my system it's called plasma-addons-lancelot and let me know if that solves it

Oh, yes, it was a lancelot part! This upgrade removed too many things. Thank you so much, everything's fine!
