I have modified the ark service menu to show up anytime you right click, and also added a search for RARs function with in the sub menu. Do I need to contact the author of ark or unrar to release it? I have one or two other service menus I would like to release(when ready) and wondered what the procedure is.

I would recommend adding your service menus to kde-apps.org in the immediate future. KDE is currently in feature and string freeze in preperation for the KDE 4.9 release.

You may also wish to mail the kde-devel@kde.org mailing list regarding this if you wanted to add this into Ark itself. However, if you wanted to add the feature in, this service menus would have to use Ark itself.
