Until kmenu never accidentally changes/destroys users' changes (which it has done to me for at least 6 years,) I suggest/request putting a list of its default entries on a web page (or here) and then (somewhere easier to find in one plaintext file) in KDE.

I don't think Kickoff has this problem. AFAIK KDE3 stuff is no longer maintained. If your Kmenu entries get updated by an update, that is probably your distribution's fault for not adding the application correctly.

but kmenu was simply ported from kde3 to kde4. there have been some minor changes to it since then. afaik, it is still essentially the same as it was in kde3, at least in how it functions. |
