The supported account operations are deposit, withdrawal, and transfer. If you open the account ledger and click on an operation, or create a new one, you will see the details of the operation at the bottom; transfer is the middle tab, and corresponds to what you need.

Just start typing the name of the other account into the "Transfer to" or "Withdrawal from" drop down edit fields and you'll see there are not only the categories, but also the accounts offered which will give you the wanted functionality.

If you enter a transfer, the transaction will show up in all involved ledgers. Make sure you selected the correct accounts and not for example a payee by the same name.

In "Settings," "Register," you do have "Show transaction form" turned on, right?
If you open the "Accounts" ledger, do you see both accounts? Is the savings account open? If you edit the Savings account, is the opening date correct? BTW you can only close an account if it has a zero balance. |
