Using KMyMoney 4.5.3 on Ubuntu 11.10 32-bit.
Bank transactions are downloaded with a qfx filename.

When using the OFX import on a bank download, the dialog does not let me know who the payee is so I can assign a default category. It appears as "Please select as default category for the payee" and the select box is below - can click and select the category. But the problem is it doesn't say who the payee is. So you either select 'Save Category', 'No Category' or 'Abort'. If you select 'Abort' it terminates - as it should. You can click and select all you want but without knowing who the payee is you don't know if it is correct. And if you click on 'No Category' then the transactions are entered without any category information.

If the payee already exists and is defined with the default category then the import will assign the vast majority of imported transactions correctly.

I have several lists that consist of payee names that I would like to have in KMyMoney before I import the bank's qfx file from my bank. How can I upload the payees, with their match names & default category, before I do the OFX import?

Or is there another way?
