Netbook Display Issue with KMyMoney

Thu Apr 12, 2012 5:58 pm
I have a netbook (Lenovo) that i recently upgraded from ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10. I am running KMyMoney version 4.5.3-2

In my previous version of Ubuntu I had no real issues with the display, right-clicking "maximize" and "unmaximize" worked to get the display correctly. However, in this version of ubuntu I can no longer do that. I'd hate to have to find a different money program as I really like this software.

Does anyone know of a way I can get KMyMoney to fit to the resolution of my netbook (I think it's 1024 x 600, whatever the default is) so I don't have to click and drag or scroll left and right for everything I try to do? Thanks!

This has been fixed after 4.5.3, which is over a year old.
Please upgrade to 4.6.3

What's the resist method to upgrade? Somewhat new to Linux, and very new to this version of Ubuntu (11.10). Thanks

Upgraded to the latest version, but still have the same problem. The resolution does not fit to my netbook display, and I'm forced to scroll or change active screen to see the whole page. Any other suggestions?

You can try the suggestions from this Bug #286381 report. The bottom line is that KMyMoney can fit into a 1024x600 resolution (see the screenshots attached to the report) but I know for sure that there are some issues with Unity (even on large resolutions) but we didn't have time to look into it. As a matter of fact if the application behaves as expected with the other window managers I guess that the problem is not the application itself.

Thanks for the reply. I've made the adjustments in the bug report, and it helped but did not completely resolve the problem. By leaving KMyMoney in an "unmaximized" state and adjusting the window size I can get it close. Is there a way to adjust the "Details" column in the Ledger view? If I could make that column a little smaller I think I'd be able to get by with that and the other adjustments made. Thanks for all your help, I know Unity is a pain and I appreciate you trying to help me.
