Hi everybody,

This evening when I wanted to open my file with Kmymoney, I had a bad surprise with an error message:
Code: Select all
"Impossible to load your file:
/home/.../kmymoney.kmy
Reason: File was not parsable!"

And after "OK" I could get this information:

Code: Select all
Currency 'EUR' not found. dans le fichier /build/src/kmymoney-4.6.2/kmymoney/mymoney/mymoneyfile.cpp à la ligne 2 410

Afterwards, through bugtrace I got:

Code: Select all

Application: kmymoney (4.6.2)
KDE Platform Version: 4.8.4 (4.8.4)
Qt Version: 4.8.2
Operating System: Linux 3.3.8-1-ARCH x86_64

Application: KMyMoney (kmymoney), signal: Aborted

Somebody can help to find my data ?
Thanks :)

Nico

Do you have a backup of your file?
It looks like the file is corrupted.

You can also try changing the file extension of your .kmy file to .gz. Then try to uncompress it. The resulting file should be a normal XML file.

Open the xml file with a text editor. Does it have plain text, or only garbage inside?

Thanks for this link I did not see it.

I try the commande " "
and I got errors.
Then I've checked the structure of the xml file, and curiously it missed a part at the end of the file.
Hopefully to me, I've kept an old backup. I copy/past the missing part, and now everything is OK.

But it's really strange that the file was corrupt, I didn't remember any problems when I saved the file.

Now I change the parameter to have automatically backups :)

One more time, thanks a lot for your help guys
