Swap columns in ledger

Mon Jul 02, 2012 9:00 pm
Hello.
I would like to have column "Payment" on the right side and column "Deposit" on the left side in Ledger.
The same way as in financial accounting world: a debit is on the left side of a transaction and a credit is on the right side of a transaction.
Is it possible to somehow change order of columns in current version of KMyMoney?

In the current version the columns in the ledger view are not customizable by the user. Their order is fixed and their size adapts automatically to the size of the view. If you think that this feature is important please file a wish for product kmymoney4 at bugs.kde.org so it won't be forgotten although we can't promise anything since development is currently only in bugfix mode.

Thank you very much for your answer.
Now I am just curious - is the order of columns used in KMyMoney (payment (credit) on the left and deposit (debit) on the right) standard in financial accounting somewhere? Or why it was chosen this way? It is totally against anything I have ever seen in my country and in foreign literature as well.

In the US, at least for all my accounts, online checking and savings ledgers have Debit, Credit, Balance like in KMM. Online credit card accounts do not have three columns; neither do monthly statements. French checking account statements also have debit, credit columns in that order, in as far as I know.
