Online banking in KDE?

Fri Sep 28, 2012 9:46 am
Hi!

I started to setup my accounting in kmymoney 4.6.3. Now I found many outdated documentations on how to do online transactions via kbanking or qbanking which suppose to somehow integrate with kmymoney. I can read my transactions from my online accounts. But I don't see any way to initiate an online transaction in kmymoney. Forum posts suggest to use kbanking or qbanking to make transactions work. But kbanking seems not to be in the repositories anymore. Same with qbanking.

How can I make an online transaction within KDE? Or at least where do I get more information that is up to date?
Sry if I am just missing something here ...

thx for reading,

The short version: you can't (as of now).
The long version: This feature is long on our list of wish items but currently noone actually got that far to implement it. Also, this would depend on the protocol you use for online banking. BTW, since KMyMoney 4.6 KBanking is not a separate plugin anymore. This used to be the way with the KDE 3.5 based versions but we integrated it into the sources.

Check AqFinance which uses the same underlying technology as KMyMoney. Once the transaction has been executed it can be downloaded into KMyMoney from the institution.
