and perhaps you can set me straight.
I am running KMyMoney ver 4.6.2 on a Windows 7 box . KDE is 4.8.00 (4.8.0 <----missing paren ? or something amiss ? 1) When I was dutifully doing a backup to a thumbdrive, there is a small checkbox for Mount. If I check it, the backup runs but it looks like nothing happens. No new file appears at the backup location. UnChecking the mount box and I get a message saying Success ! and a new file appears in the backup location. Booyah ! However, the latest file name was this and it is a weird name. George-2012-08-16-2012-11-21-2012-11-22.kmy Perhaps it's correct but I just wanted to check. The other backup files in the same location have 1 date less. 2) If I wanted to revert to a backup file would I merely just open one of these multi-dated files ? 3) I used to be able to exit after a save, by poking the "X" in the extreme upper right of the window. Not now. Coming back to the "FILE" pulldown menu: Close gets me to a welcome screen, Quit does nothing just like the red "X" box. I have been using task manager to kill the process and I know that can't be right. Thanks and help. Well, I tried it again a bit later and hitting the "X" now works. Color me even more puzzled.. 1) The usb is probably already mounted.
The date is added at the end. Are you sure you hadn't opened a file with the date on it? 2) You just open the file. 3) Close just closes the current file. Quit should work the same way as the X on the window.
