I'm using KMyMoney for several years now and I'm very happy with it.

To make it more useful, I am looking for a way to calculate automatically the interests on my saving accounts.
Currently I use a LibreOffice spreadsheet to do the calculations using an export of the account as a base, but this is a quite long process.
Interests on my saving accounts (a French "Livret A") are quite hard to calculate, withdrawal and deposit don't have the same date of value and interests are calculated twice a month but are paid at the end of the year. I would like to be able to estimate the interests gained from the account.

Is there a way to specify the rate of the saving account and the way the interests are calculated?
If not what is the difference in KMyMoney between a saving account and a check account beside the pretty piggy bank icon?
