and I wanted to submit a bug report but it says that I need to install some debug software.
It points me to a site that has a lot of repositories and I know, in fact I am certain, that I will pick the wrong one.

Is there a package already in the official release, and if not, where can I get one ?

This is what I had been doing.
1) Downloaded a QFX file and imported it.
2) Began working on the imported items and it was working fine until
3) I needed to edit a charge that did not have a category, so I did that and when I pressed Accept, the crash happened. It happened 3 times in a row, so I began saving very often.
4) I tried to install the debug package but was not sure which one to install.
5) I also posted on the openSUSE forum asking for the proper debug package. I am new to Linux and have gotten into trouble by installing packages that were not supported.

Please suggest how I may proceed.

Awaiting a registration email from bugs.kde.org so I can report the bug and upload the debugging info.

No, the debugging info is in "kmymoney-debuginfo". So it should be:

sudo zypper install kmymoney-debuginfo

But you have to enable the debug repo first (it is not enabled by default):

Or use YaST->Software Repositories.

I have the debug packages installed and am awaiting the registration e-mail before I can do anything with it.

I remember this from before in that my .ATT email got filtered so I used my .FM email. I posted the bug and would be happy to help in any way I can.

This is my most important app and I will do whatever is needed.

@gcash: We have known issues with AT&T and various parts of KDE infrastructure, including Bugzilla and Identity. If you have issues with your .fm email address, please let me know so I can investigate (i'll need your full email address there though).

I was amiss in that I did not post what I did in order to prevent KMyMoney from crashing.

Apparently there are conflicts between KMyMoney and Ibus/FCITX.

I uninstalled FCITX and the crashing disappeared.

The input method (IBus, fctix) related crash was already reported and solved (will be available in the next release).
