So I'm new to KMyMoney and still trying to figure things out about the budget and reports options. I have successfully entered all information for all of my transactions with my checking account. I have set up a budget and included all of my expenses and income. However, I cannot get my budget or the reports to recognize any of the transactions I have made that would show under the "Actual" heading/category. What am I doing wrong? What have I missed? I have to be honest in saying that I don't think this software is user friendly for the novice Linux user. I'm very frustrated!! Any suggestions offered will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The first thing I would check while encountering your problem are the periods. Do they match? You have the transaction's post date, the reporting period and the budget period. All of them should reference the same time frame. If this does not help, please get back to us here.

Thanks! That clarified things enough for me to figure it out. This certainly isn't as simple as MS Money, but I'm getting the hang of it slowly. A small price to pay for not feeding the greedy corporate giants I suppose.
