When importing transactions from my bank (OFX) the import finds a match, but it changes the date to when it was cleared by my bank instead of the date I entered it into the register. Is there a way to keep the date it was entered into the register without having to edit each entry?

Do not accept the match and just delete the imported transaction?

I guess that would work, but then I would need to go manually Clear it and then manually Reconcile it...right?

I think you have to manually accept matched entries anyway. Did you enter the original transaction in the ledger manually? Why? Here is an example where matching transactions have to be manually accepted (at least I don't know of a way of doing it automatically)
- You have a checking account and download transactions. One transaction is a credit card payment. It is marked as a transfer to the corresponding credit card account. - When you download the transactions of your credit card account, the payment transaction will be matched with the checking account transfer. You have to accept the match manually. |

I usually enter my transactions in the register as they happen, buy things, pay bills, etc. Then when I download from my bank it's a simple one click to accept the matching import. However, this is where the dates differ from my entry and when it cleared at my bank. I want to keep the date I entered it. If I don't accept the match, it seems like it would be several more steps to complete what should be a simple process.

Sounds like a lot of work. You can also just keep all your receipts, download your transactions, and throw away the receipts as you reconcile.

Not much work at all actually. All my bills are set up in Kmymoney to be entered on a certain date. I like to see what I have in my account at any given time without waiting for transactions to clear through my bank which may be several days later. Just keeping receipts or bill payment stubs as they are won't help knowing what I have in my accounts. I don't want to forget any of my purchases or payments. This is one of the reasons I use desktop financial software, otherwise I could just log onto my bank site.
