Appolgies if this is in the wrong thread or is repeated but I couldnt find a similar.

Having setup auto vat catigories and used them sucsefully I thought all was well... untill I came to repeat the process a second time
On importing transaction data categories were automaticaly assigned the transactions split and vat ammounts applied, however the details of the newly split transactions were copied directly without change from previous transactions of the same payee. This causes the transaction value to be unequall to the total of the split and a 'caution' symbol displayed on the transaction. All transactions then have to be mannually recalculated and re-entered into the system

I have tried removing all vat categories and unchecking 'enable auto vat assignment' and 'include in tax report' in all standard categories. This has no effect, vat is calculated and split exactly as before .
It also seems that auto assignment of categories cant be turned off as payees dont always belong in the same category as previous transactions?

The auto vat errors mean this app cant be used to do vat, once turned on it cant be turned off and so cant be used as a general accounting either Is their a solution or do I give up and go back to excell

Sorry a solution would be either make the auto vat work correctly or prevent it assigning any vat (turn it off). Turning off auto category assignment would be nice aswell

Which version of KMyMoney are you using?

KMyMoney Version 4.6.2 Using KDE Development Platform 4.8.4 (4.8.4)
This version should be upto date as far as Debian repositories go
Debian version is 7.3
