Dear all,
First, thank you very much for this very good app ! I'm a newbie with money management software, but here are my questions... I "reconcile" my account by looking at the ledger with one eye, and looking at my bank sheet of paper with the other eye. But it's much easier when all entries in both lists are in the very same order. That's why I was trying to change the listing order in kmymoney; I figured out that it's possible to sort from either date, or entry order. Fine, but date is not precise enough, and I have 2 dates in my bank account: one for the actual payment, and another one for the date it was taken into account by the bank. So first, how can I enter both dates in kmymoney, I only saw one date field ? Second, I still want the listing ordering to match the one from my bank, and date is no good for that. So I thought about sorting the "entry order", which seems a good option, but I have not seen any editable field to actually edit/change it, after the entry has already been entered ? (and obviously, I don't want to remove all entries back to re-insert them again in the right ordering...) Thank you very much for your help ! Best regards, Christophe |

The entry order is not editable. It is the date when the transaction was entered into KMyMoney.
There was a request for a bank date at some point, but I don't remember if we ever got to accept the code for it.

Thank you for the answer.
I don't know if KMyMoney is open source, but is there any chance I could hack into the code to add a right-click context menu to allow for switching two lines, by editing the entry order behind the wall ? Thx anyway ! Christophe |

It is open-source and we are happy to have new contributors. However, changing that kind of data is not something we encourage to do.
Have you tried the reconcile feature? I think that will help you better.

OK I understand.
Thanks for the hint, I'll try to understand how the reconcile procedure works. Thanks ! Christophe |
