I am just starting to look at KMyMoney as a replacement for Quicken (98 + Y2K fixes).
I exported my Quicken current (checking) account to QIF and imported it into KMyMoney. Excellent! It automatically created categories and other accounts that were involved in transfers, notably a credit card account. Balance was correct, and everything else looked OK. Then I did the same for the credit card account. Every transfer from current a/c to credit card a/c was duplicated in the current a/c, but appeared only once in the credit card a/c. Then, just playing around, I deleted the credit card a/c and imported its QIF file again. This time it seemed to have worked OK; no duplicate transactions. Surely it isn't right that I had to delete the account that KMyMoney had very usefully created for me when I imported the current a/c QIF? |
