I have some 15 entries in the Accounts window and I am unable to see some of those at the bottom as they disappear off the screen.
I am aware that pressing alt and the selecting a window it can be moved. However, in the case of the Accounts window it can only be moved sideways. The height cannot be resized from the bottom or the top. It is my first attempt with this software, coming from MS Money. I am using Debian Gnome of a netbook and have the resolution set as default. If I cannot view the lower accounts it may be that I cannot use this software. I have had one other problem, perhaps more serious but I will post that separately. (Lost data) |

I find that having removed the main toolbar, I can now move the Accounts window in the same manner as all the others.

What version of KMyMoney are you using? And what's your screen resolution?

Version 4.6.2
Resolution 1024 x 600 which is detected. There is also an option for 800 x 600. I had the same problem a few minutes ago and could only move the window up if I cleared the status box.

Checkout the options under "Settings->Configure KMyMoney->General->Views" in order to save vertical space.

Yes, I found that thank you.
I should spend more time checking settings before I post but sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees and a hand is welcome. |

This not being able to move the window has got to be a fault with Gnome.
Once again I cannot move the window up or down! I must see it it occurs with windows other than those of KMM. |

We did fix some issues related to screen resolution, way back. You are using a really outdated version (about 2 years old). What distro is it?

Debian Wheezy which I obtained only a few days ago to install using USB.
EDIT: Lokking on http://www.kmymoney.org/ I don't see a Linux version to download. I obtained the package via packagemanager and have updated the system. The manager shows I have the latest version 4.6.2-3.2

Ok, it's the right version for debian stable. A very old one, though.
Try tweaking the views settings to remove anything that's not needed to get more screen real estate.

Thanks.
I have done as much as I can at the moment and it is working ok. Will there be a new package version any time soon? I do miss the 'Update' usually found in 'Help'. |

That depends on the distro. Debian wheezy won't have an update unless there is a security fix (which we don't expect).
The current stable version of KMyMoney is 4.6.6, but you would need to run debian jessy (testing) to get it.

Security fix to Wheezy?
If there is a known security problem with Wheezy then I cannot use that version. I must wait to change from Windows. I use mank banks and in different countries, especially China so need security at least equal to what is available in Win7 Ultimate. |

I meant, Wheezy will only get an update if it is a security fix. There hasn't been one, and I don't expect that to happen.
In a normal situation, you need to update debian to get a newer version of KMyMoney.
