Hi,
I have been using KMyMoney since around version 1 and am currently using 4.7.0 under Kubuntu 14.04. I'm a regular user of the application - with the emphasis on "using" rather than "tweaking" or "changing". Today I was looking at my forecast net worth (which didn't look very realistic) and ended-up changing the settings in the forecast section of configure KMyMoney from "history based" to "scheduled and future transactions" to see if it would give me a more realistic looking result. All fine so far...... My mistake was to wonder what the original default settings were, so I clicked "defaults" and then "apply" - forgetting that doing this effectively resets KMyMoney back to its default settings ON ALL the configuration screens. Aaaaaaaggggghhhhhhh! The system set my financial year start back to January 1st, font sizes back to defaults, precision back to 4 decimal places, etc, etc. I have no record of what my personal configuration settings were for KMyMoney and, it appears that this information isn't stored in the users data file because loading a backup of my data file doesn't get me back to my preferred settings. Is there an easy way for me to recover my original configuration settings? Many thanks, Mike |

The setting are store in your user's configuration file located at
If you have a previous version of this file (maybe on another computer/system) you can restore your settings otherwise I'm afraid you have to reconfigure them manually.

Thanks very much for your help.
I recovered the original kmymoneyrc file from a system backup and everything is now back as it should be. Mike |
