Hi,

As this is my first post, I would like to thanks the community for the KMyMoney product.

I started (as many) years ago with Microsoft Money, and tried (a few ;D) alternatives, were i used AceMoney for lots of years.
Also Ace is now rapidly loosing his user base, due to inactive development, therefore i was looking for a replacement.
As I'm as windows user, my eyes were toward MMEX, as this is a product with great potential.

I've recently discovered KMyMoney, and is was like coming home, really an outstanding money manager with ALL the features :)

I've migrated all my accounts, multiple currencies, QIF Imports, CSV Imports, Loan, investments, categories, new budgets, The reports are great and all required customization is possible. Cherry on the cake, it's all working together in my own native language: dutch.

There are just 2 question on my nice to have list:
1) I have the scheduled transactions visible in my ledger with a 1 year forecast. This allows me to see for every month what is the potential extra saving, and create a one off scheduled transaction for each month, one for each month with all different amounts, and set the date to the beginning off that month, This allows me to book an amount to my savings account directly after we receive our salaries. This works great for me. However the input in KMyMoney could be better, navigating with arrows/PGDN in the ledger on the forecast transactions doesn't work, works only for the first +/-15 rows.
2) Entering a new scheduled transaction when i'm in the ledger viewing my forecast transactions there is no easy way to enter a new scheduled transaction without leaving the ledger view, to see the immediate effect on the ledger forecast.

Thanks again for the good works that has been done, for such a great open source product.

Kind regards,
Homebunny

This actually has an explanation: keyboard navigation is bound to the fact that an item can be selected or not, when you reach the first scheduled entry which can't be selected the selection will go back to the first schedule which can be selected; if you ask why only the first few scheduled entries can be selected the explanation is that scheduled transaction instances must be entered in the order of their occurrence. For example if I have a monthly transaction due on 28.02.2015 although I can see the entry on 28.03.2015 I can't enter it until the occurrence due on 28.02.2015 is entered.

Entering a new scheduled transaction when i'm in the ledger viewing my forecast transactions there is no easy way to enter a new scheduled transaction without leaving the ledger view, to see the immediate effect on the ledger forecast.

Have you tried the context menu on an existing scheduled transaction entry? If you don't have any scheduled transaction entries in the ledger try entering a transaction in the future and see that KMyMoney will ask you if you would like to create a scheduled transaction.

I fully understand the technical behavior, just from a user perspective this would be nice to improve.

I overlooked that, works perfect now!

Thanks for the support.

You are right this could be done the following way: allow any item to be selected and enable/disable the actions according to the occurrence of the schedule that the item represents. Feel free to create a wish list entry with this request if you feel it should be done.
