Hello,

I'm a long time MS Money user but have been trying to migrate to KMM for my stock/brokerage accounts' records.

When I run the report "Investment Holdings By Account" it displays any stock I have ever held even if I currently own zero shares.

Is there a way I can hide these in the report?

Thanks!

Investments with a zero balance should not appear in the report if you close them. You can do that either from the Investments section of from the Accounts section (under the investment account where they appear).

Thanks for the reply!

If I "close" a stock and were to repurchase the same one at a later date, would they "reopen" automatically or is that something that would have to be done manually? Thanks!

KMM will not reopen the stock automatically.

Suppose you are in the investment account ledger. If you were to buy a closed stock, it will not appear in the drop down list of securities. You can type in the name, but KMM will not recognize it, and will prompt you to create it. At that point, two things may happen:
    1. You create the exact same stock that already exists, and KMM will tell you so.
    2. You define it slightly differently, e.g. using a different trading symbol, and you will end up with a duplicate.

However, if you attempt to create the stock first while in the Accounts section, KMM does recognize it as soon as you type in the trading symbol, even if the old stock is closed. So, a check seems to be missing when an investment is created from within the ledger.
