I've just migrated from Quicken to KMyMoney and have a lot to learn about this amazing application. I'm using KMyMoney version 4.7.2 installed on a Windows 8.1 Pro machine. I've set up a number of accounts - banking, investment and asset. When adding the accounts I included only the Institutions name with the intent of later editing the information to add the Institutions address and phone number. I'm now at that stage but have uncovered strange behaviours that I cannot figure out. Here are my observations;

1) There is one institution in the list that I cannot edit. Rather than an "Institutions Options" menu opening when I right click, an "Account Options" window opens. I can replicate the problem by selecting the Institutions Window, highlighting the institution then right clicking. This is the only institution that presents a problem. All other Institutions may be edited using the Right Menu option without an issue.

2) Related to Item 1; If I open the Institutions Window, select the Institution that causes the issue illustrated in item 1) above, then use the menu bar option Institution>Edit Institution to edit the Institution, rather than an Edit Institution Dialog Window opening, a New Institution Dialog Window with information from an existing Institution, not the selected Institution, will open.

3) If I open the Institutions Window, select an institution other than the one that causes the problem as illustrated in items 1) and 2) above, then use the menu bar option Institution>Edit Institution to edit the Institution, rather than an Edit Institution Dialog Window opening, a New Institution Dialog Window opens. In this case information about the selected Institution appears. The confusing part being the title of the Window. Why does it read "New Institution Dialog" instead of "Edit Institution Dialog"?

4) I used the menu bar option Institutions>New Institution to create a new institution. That new institution is not appearing in the institution Window. I know it exists as it may be selected as an institution for an account. Why doesn't it appear in the Institutions Window?

I would like to know why the above noted behaviour occurs. Any insight you may have to offer would be appreciated.

Apart from this interesting but weird behaviour most everything else seems to works okay. I am struggling a little with QFX import and item matching however I think that may be a transitional thing - the behaviour of Quicken versus KMyMoney.

Windows 7, KMyMoney set up. I cannot edit institutions except one out of nine! On editing either by menu in toolbar or inserted button in toolbar I get on the one institution that opens a new institution dialog with old name filed in. On right clicking I get no ability to edit any other institutions. Like previous forum questioner, I have just stated to work on KMyMoney (In Windows 7) . I have used K DE on Linux but this use is in windows 7. Document write up does not give information on this.
