I'm 81 and have been using kmymoney for several years. I just received a debit card that is linked to my bank checking account. Question: In Kmymoney how do I link my new debit card account to debit my Kmymoney checking account? Do I need to do two entries, or can it be done with one? I have been looking through the book and on this web site to no avail.

Is it an actual different account, with its own balance, or is it linked to the existing checking account?

If it is a UK Debit Card, then it is absolutely linked to One Named Account, and any charges to the Debit Card are immediately deducted from the Linked Account and paid to the designated payee. It works like an instant electronic check/cheque on that account without any means of cancelling once entered; and without the safeguards on a Credit Card (where bank may be responsible for losses over a certain amount if fraudulent).

In that case, I'd say you don't need to enter the debit card, similar to how you don't create an account for a checkbook. Or is there a specific reason why you want to have it modelled in KMM?
