Multiple currencies in reports

Tue Nov 03, 2015 6:58 pm
Hi,

I am using many different currencies and I am wondering if I can configure reports to show values in both my base currency and the actual currency of the account/security. I.e. I want to be able to see:
Code: Select all
Bank account 1              Value in account currency (if different)                 Value in base currency
Bank account 2               Value in account currency (if different)                 Value in base currency
Stock 1    No of shares        Value in stock currency (if different)                 Value in base currency

etc.

Is this possible to configure?

Unfortunately this option does not exist. You have to choose if you want everything converted to the base currency or not. Similarly, I find it highly inconvenient that the account totals in the reports are only given when converting to base currency. I understand you cannot give a Grand Total without conversion, but I see no reason not to display the total per account in the account currency.

I see, that's too bad.

Do you know if there is any way to use the data to create reports in some other tool?

I export the reports and then use a spreadsheet to get the complete picture. In the spreadsheet, I add a Total ROI per account by using a weighted average of the different assets in each investment account, and a Grand Total RI by weighing the different accounts, as well as some graphs.
