Importing Qif

Wed Mar 16, 2016 8:01 pm
Greetings,
I just installed KMyMoney and cannot find the QIF import option? The document in support says:

To import a QIF file, first ensure you have a valid KMyMoney file open. Then select Import QIF from the File menu.

First, what is a Valid KMYMoney file? I just set it up. It does show my account and balance etc. Is that all?

Second: there is not FILE option on the menu! I looked everywhere. Has this option to import qif files been deleted?

Thanks,
Joe

The file menu is the first item on the top row of options - the menu bar -, above the main toolbar. Please see the manual on this page. The File menu has a drop down menu where QIF is the first option of the submenu.

Best way to import qif format is to use a preprocessor like qifqif. Maybe KMM might incorporate something similar in a future version.
