Hello everyone,
Around two weeks ago "update accounts" stopped working for my kmy file and I'm running behind matching my transactions with my online account. My checkings and savings accounts still appear to be mapped to an online account but the "update account" button is greyed out and I cannot get it to run. My suspicion is that there's been some kmymoney update that broke the connection. I'm working with kmymoney 4.8.0 on KDE 4.14.9 and opensuse 13.2 x86_64. I've tried to search for a solution but have come up empty so far. Is there anything you would recommend doing? Thanks in advance for any support! Jens |

In order to diagnose your problem, we need to know which kind of online banking method you are using (HBCI, OFX, etc.)? Also, it does not work anymore is a rather global description of the problem. Can you provide some details, like expected vs. actual behavior, error messages that show up? Also, try starting KMyMoney from a terminal session and see if there are any suspicious message printed to the terminal window.

Hi ipwizard,
thank you very much for your reply! Unfortunately, I'm struggling a bit to answer your questions.
I am really not sure since I've set this up quite a while ago and haven't found a way within kmymoney to check the setup. So I've created a backup file and unmapped the existing account. The only options kmymoney is offering me to re-map are OFX and Weboob. However, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to map with my bank using any of these methods. However, the bank seems to support HBCI. So my guess would be that this is what I used and maybe it's not available any longer. In the kmymoney settings I can also see the OFX and the Weboob plugins but no sign of an HBCI plugin. Could it be that this plugin has been removed? Update: Both kmymoney and aqbanking are installed in the latest versions (aqbanking 5.4.3beta-2.1.9 from source opensuse 13.2 Oss and kmymoney 4.8.0-13.2 from source KDE)
I was trying to describe it by <the "update account" button is greyed out and I cannot get it to run.> There's no error message or anything, the option to update is simply not offered any longer. The Account menu does not offer the "Update account" option, it is greyed out. However, the account is still mapped, as the menu offers to "Unmap account". I'm not sure whether this description was any clearer? ![]()
I don't see anything unusual in the startup messages for kmymoney.

I think the problem may be caused by the fact that kmymoney 4.8.0 for 13.2 doesn't include the kbanking plugin, because aqbanking in 13.2 is too old. Try downgrading to 4.6.6 from the standard repos. |

Your answers made clear, that you are using HBCI to access your bank. As wolfi323 pointed out, the distro does not support it. In this case, I would not go back to 4.6.6 but rather to 4.7.2 if possible. I am using openSUSE distros myself but usually build KMyMoney from source

Well, it's not really that the distro does not support it, we did build it in the past (and the 4.6.6 included in 13.2 does come with it). But kmymoney requires a newer aqbanking now in 4.8.0, so the kbanking plugin cannot be built any more for 13.2.
I created a 4.7.2 package (with kbanking) here: http://software.opensuse.org/download.h ... e=kmymoney |

So where is the problem in supporting a newer AqBanking version also? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Awesome. Installed it and it's working like a charm again. Thank you very much!
![]() ![]() ![]() Out of curiosity I would second ipwizards question. Is the newer aqbanking version that is required currently not available for opensuse 13.2? |

13.2 is a stable release. There are no version upgrades, only bugfix and security updates. That's also the reason why it only has kmymoney 4.6.6 in the standard repos. We do have a rolling distribution too, Tumbleweed, which does of course have the latest aqbanking, and the latest kmymoney (4.8.0) *with* the kbanking plugin. It would of course be possible to add the latest aqbanking to KDE:Extra (where newer kmymoney packages are available for older distributions like 13.2), but there's another problem with this: Different versions of aqbanking cannot be installed in parallel (due to the way how it is packaged), and other software in the standard repos (e.g. gnucash) would still require the old version, so you'd have to uninstall them if you wanted to install kmymoney. (This in turn also means that if we would update aqbanking in 13.2 itself, we'd also need to update everything else that uses it, which makes this even more impractical) |
