Hello KMyMoney users,
I'm trying to wrap my head around how KMyMoney tracks everything and there's one thing I can't grasp. Let me explain. I've read in the documentation ![]()
Sounds great. I've made some dummy accounts with dummy values:
OK. Suppose I take 500PLN and go buy a monitor. I made one entry: me paying the shop 500PLN (PAYMENT). Second entry: the shop "pays" me 500PLN in the form of a monitor, I take it home and it becomes my asset. Exactly like the beans. In IT Materials I see an entry for 500PLN (INCREASE). So far so good. But when I go into categories, I see a zero. Both transactions (me buying, shop "giving") are categorized as IT. So, I know they cancel each other out, but this leaves me with a question: how can I monitor my expenses?
I've checked the forums, but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for. viewtopic.php?f=69&t=127006&p=337165&hilit=transfer#p337165 viewtopic.php?f=69&t=126211&p=334889&hilit=transfer#p334889 viewtopic.php?f=69&t=131147&p=351929&hilit=transfer#p351929 I'd appreciate the help, since I'm trying to rule all those assets and know exactly where the cash is flowing. ![]() Best regards, Bartosz |
